If there's something in this then that's probably it. A player doesn't really 'pass' or 'fail' a medical (unless something potentially serious like a heart defect is discovered during the process and they have to stop for more/different medical attention), they just complete one and the club decides whether to proceed with the transfer (or alter the deal in some way) based on the results of it. |
Or, they discover a potential issue which needs a more specialist investigation than a standard medical can provide. As could well be the case here…. |  | | |

To be fair, better to be diligent then ensure he’s on board for Manchester City, considering the future outlay. No offence to the guy, but I don’t think anyone expects him to make a massive difference on Saturday.
