If there's something in this then that's probably it. A player doesn't really 'pass' or 'fail' a medical (unless something potentially serious like a heart defect is discovered during the process and they have to stop for more/different medical attention), they just complete one and the club decides whether to proceed with the transfer (or alter the deal in some way) based on the results of it. |
I'm amazed that people don't yet know how they work and instead assume it's like a GCSE or a Driving Test lol.
The medical will show no issues, very minor issue, minor issue, issue, significant issue, very significant issue and beyond that I am guessing the player would arrive in a hearse.
Any club can sign a player with a very signficant issue or reject a player with a very minor issue.
There's not someone with a clipboard saying 'sorry Mr Broja you're only 84.67% percent fit. So close to the 85% pass rate'. [Post edited 22 Aug 2024 14:42]

I'd have thought that KM would have alluded to this in his presser if any truth in the rumour. If the deal had collapsed he would surely have said (why wouldn't he?). The fact he said nothing suggests to me that he didn't want to announce it in the presser and that it's still on.
Strange though, I agree that if the med was passed yesterday that it's taken them so long to get the news out today. Where is OG in the bushes to keep an eye on who's training when we need him? |  |

Something has certainly cropped up to delay the signing, however I think it would have emerged publically by now had he actually failed the medical & the move was off.
We really could have done with this going through quickly (yesterday really) so that McKenna could put him through his paces with the system & he'd properly meet his new teammates, ahead of the City game.
He'll have to be registered by tomorrow morning in order to even play in that game, and we'll need him for when Delap runs out of energy. | | | |
