I know you should never read comments on news stories 23:02 - Aug 28 with 1199 views | BondiBlue | but there are a few jumping on mckenna after tonight. Is there going to be a bit of a undercurrent of negative feeling towards him after all the contract stuff in the summer i wonder. Bit less patience maybe, he's a bit more of a focal point for frustration.

Tonight was frustrating for want of better words but in no way prepared to find fault with the manager because of it. He put out a strong team, made a go of it but the field players let us down and the blame should ideally be left with them. McKenna signed a 4 year extension this or last year. That won't be fulfilled, there's very little chance he'll stay on for the time indicated but truth is he's done a marvellous job here since coming in and can by now be labeled in the same mention of Ramsey and Robson, although not actually winning a trophy or top level league like his predecessors. For instilling hope, belief, perhaps most of all progress and making this club name recognized once again, I think McKenna can be put on a plateau with names listed. Maybe not quite as high but he sure put pride back in this team once again.

Any loss is a bit of pain, but I hope in the cold light of day, they will see it for what it is. Our aim this season has to be survival in the PL. Nothing else really matters for now. Once we are established in the PL, then maybe a cup run and possible win will become more likely. For now, let's just focus on the league.

I know you should never read comments on news stories on 05:24 - Aug 29 with 836 views | Chrisd | Last night was irritating and extremely frustrating. We weren’t talking about a team that had a lot of youngsters playing, we’re talking about players with a lot of professional games under their belt, experienced and cost a decent amount of money. Yes, they haven’t played together much but there was more than enough quality to win that game last night or should’ve been, yet we still managed to come out 2nd best. Wimbledon’s two goals, blimey two free headers, that’s basic stuff regardless of the level you are playing at, that was poor. Both goals carbon copies of each other, like we didn’t learn defensively. A long, long way to go before he can be bracketed with R and R. He’s been wonderful. All the things you say. And times are very different. But come on! We haven’t even got a point in the PL yet under him. Let’s give it a lot longer before comparisons of that kind.
