People blaming Ashton - really? 08:38 - Aug 31 with 1306 viewstractorshark

Of course I’m disappointed we didn’t get a striker in but some of the comments on here are just laughable.
To suggest Ashton was to blame or didn’t have a plan B to Broja is ridiculous and an over-reaction.
Of course Ipswich would have had a Plan B, C, D etc but whether it was possible, viable or worth it is another matter.
Clearly Broja was Plan A from a couple of weeks ago but the terms weren’t right with his injury.
While it’s frustrating we didn’t sign him, to be honest we might have dodged a huge bullet there.
The other names mentioned like Foster and Edouard never inspired me because of their track record.
I doubt Nelson was even Plan D. He only became available because of the Sterling deal and he’s not even a striker.
Good player but not sure he would have been the missing piece in the jigsaw or solved our striking issue any more than Broadhead or Szmodics would in terms of playing out of position.
We have had a very good window and while it was disappointing yesterday, there has to be a degree of perspective.
We must stick to FFP and committing £30million to Broja when he has an injury and an iffy goal record just didn’t add up.

He’s due a public flogging in the centre circle at half time I reckon. Or make him spend 15 minutes in the ‘chat’ room. Both are equally painful

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

Only the stupid and the ignorant are blaming Ashton. Some on here think we should be able to get exactly what we want when we want it. Spoilt only child syndrome. Pop them on ignore, it makes it a much better place to spend some down time.

Luckily I am going to the game today. God knows what this place will be like if we haven't scored before half time.

Playing devil's advocate.

If he gets plaudits for the others signings then he has to be part of the blame for not signing a back up striker.

Anyways. Enough for me talking about transfers now. What's done is done. We've either got enough or we haven't.

a niche perspective
Poll: We've had Kuqi v Pablo.. so Broadhead or Celina?

I am glad we didn't waste 30 Million just for the hell of it on a crock, and not a very good One at that. Ashton did his job correctly, the same as he did in trying to get Latte Lath in the door, you can't force clubs to sell.

I’m certainly of the opinion, if it isn’t 100% right for the football club then MA won’t do it.
He’s got my backing for sure.

There's like a really tiny tiny percent of me that would like to see that, just to see how outrageously funny it would be on here to read the completely ludicrous takes it causes
