I’m sure I’ve read this, but it’s free train travel from Lewes and Brighton main station (to Falmer) if you have a match ticket?

Yep, some details here.

Edit: Looks like you can buy a return to Haywards Heath (and stay on the train to Brighton/Falmer) rather than Brighton which should be a few quid cheaper.

For those driving Lewes car park is also an option plenty of space even on match day.

Got a driveway booked near Lewes station, so only making the 5/6min trip from there 👍

With the uni having booked out all the car parking spaces at the ground I reckon Lewes could be pretty rammed.

Hadn't realised that was happening. Cheers for the info. Worth adding there are other places to park in Lewes but given the above may still be tricky.

Have you been selected for that?

I reckon they monitor social media and pick out those dodgy hippy types.

Us sophisticated, well presented fans are clearly less likely to get chosen :-)

think I read there is some big event on and they’ve taken all the parking (that would normally be for football fans)
I’m sure they wouldn’t have arranged that for your arsenals or Man City’s!

Id initially assumed it is freshers week/moving in week at the uni's that weekend. It is also the eve of the Lib Dem conference so could be to do with that?

I'm going to Lewes too, but getting the train back after the game has been a nightmare the last few times I've been there.

From what I can make out you have 30k fans having to get away from the stadium by train, either towards Brighton, or Lewes…

I’m sure I read the bars stay open at the ground so people can hang back if needs be to let crowds die down

We are going with a neighbour who is a Brighton season ticket holder.

We are going on the park and ride which is also free if you have a ticket to the game.

Staying in Eastbourne over the weekend, so that's £12.40 saved. What a great scheme

Well that’s a great idea !

Free parking and a free train ticket with a match ticket!

Also Germany give free public transport with a match ticket !

Ipswich BC want to raise car park prices!! 🥺 way to go ibc!

No worries… now all I ask in return is a lifetime of betting tips (ideally nailed on winners)

I’m willing to break my no betting rule as long as they 100% come in 😃
