You do wonder for how much longer can a few thousand people North of Ipswich determine the transport policy for 300k+ people who rely on that crossing

Half the containerized trade for the whole of Britain comes through Felixstowe and over that bridge.
It's astonishing really that an alternate route has not been forced upon us before now by those than run the country, even if the locals in charge have their reasons for holding out.

There needs to be alternative routing, admittedly... But, playing devil's advocate, would you prefer the bridge to remain open, if it is unsafe due to high winds, or maintenance issues? [Post edited 19 Sep 2024 9:14]
