Philogene didnt add anything to them when he came on. Clarke and Davis very fluid in their movement. Villa right side of defence were poor though, they really missed Cash as Konsa is never a full back. |  | | |

Philogene will no doubt end up being an excellent player. The trouble is, he has an absolute bellend of an agent. That means if he does well, his agent will be causing all sorts of problems in the background. The lad needs a new agent.
Like always, lets not burn any bridges, he won't play many games at Villa and he said that is what he is after. Delap and Greaves know him well, and Delap is clearly still friends with him, so lets see how things pan out. We need to keep all doors open, it does not mean we have to walk through them. (Downes falls into this category too). | |

I thought he was great, his passing was way better than I expected, some great through balls.
Very right footed though, hopefully he can improve that.

KMc very cleverly created a lot of space for Leif through Clarke, Hutch and others pulling defenders away from our left, it is not always about individual players shortcomings, a lot of work goes into creating the space from the attacking team.
Like the Villa second goal, Bailey refused point blank to use his right foot, Leif did a brilliant job of stopping him crossing but got caught out when it was not yet another dummy to cross with his left foot, he put in a very good cross with the right and caught out not only Leif but the Greaves and O'Shea as well. |  | | |

We looked great in the second half going forward – lovely seeing Leif playing that winger role like last season, which Clarke took full advantage of. Really exciting player.
I did think he struggled a bit defensively in the first half, though. We looked a lot more solid down the right as Ogbene is better tracking back (and of course Tuanzebe is a world class defender).
Also, I think Emery should have fixed their right-sided problems: we had a lot of space there, which Davis, Delap and Clarke exploited brilliantly
And Omari puts in such a shift, in some ways our best defender. |  | | |
