If there’s one thing to miss from the EFL then… 20:25 - Oct 1 with 1088 viewsSitfcB

…it’s all the mid week games.

Although hectic the midweek games are a tradition in the EFL, plus we’ve had a good record over the last few years!

Good for the squad to get a whole week at a time on the training pitch though, McKenna spoke about that on Friday.

Was just thinking same.

Does make cold Tuesday and wet Wednesday evenings more boring though!

Watching every three days. Magical nights under the floodlights, like Barnsley, Southampton and Coventry. What’s not to love?

It feels like forever between games now. Also, we only seem to play a couple of games and then a pesky international break comes along.

We're Premier League now.

Much as I miss those and in certain ways the competitiveness of the EFL, I love the ridiculous challenge of the top division. It’s unfair, loaded against us, infrequent games, difficult. But I wouldn’t swap the experience of the first three home games for any of it.

Liverpool walking out for a league game against us, full ground? Then there’s last Sunday and tbf the Fulham game was an interesting challenge. Nah, I’ll keep that (for now) thanks.

Besides, midweek games have at times been tough for me to get to. Lastly, midweek will be occupied by Champions League games in two or three years time……… well why not? I can dream!
