Fridge is really working his way through the golden generation. Carrick, Rooney, Scholes, Gerrard, Lampard (I think). Shame we never saw more of him but Burgess just became brilliant. Sad we're now not seeing any of him either! [Post edited 1 Oct 23:13]

Burgess was just brilliant against any long ball to a hold up striker which we came up against in League 1 and the Championship. I can see why he's out of the team because of his lack of pace, but it still stings.

Don’t think he ever played for Lampard

I don't think he was underrated, but did take a long time to recover from his injury late in the 21-22 season and by the time he did Burgess had improved massively. I think most fans see him as just being a bit unfortunate.

Really good with off the pitch stuff. Was heavily involved with the disability team, including buying all their kit at one point

Fridge getting some love from boro fans on 11:29 - Oct 2 with 941 views | _clive_baker_ | Its a really good move for him to be at a club that a) should be towards the top 6 in the Championship and b) playing under a progressive manager like Carrick and with people like Woodgate in the coaching staff. Its a great opportunity for him and environment where he can no doubt learn and become a better player for the experience.
