Chaplin 12:00 - Oct 27 with 1218 views | urbanblue | He had a really good game yesterday didn't he. I love Omari but the difference in that 10 position was so noticeable. I honestly thought that Chappers would probably just be a fringe player this season but maybe hecould prove me wrong. Only one game though so we'll see. Ideal opportunity to now put Omari on the right with Ogbene being out and Burns unfortunately not exactly looking the part yet. Oh, and that link up with Hirst for the second goal had me purring. It was like the good old days ...

Was good to see him get a run out. He certainly justified his selection. Lovely ball to put Hirst in for the second goal. Chappers certainly ain't done.

Hirst & Chappers just seem to have a telepathic understanding as to how close down as a pair.... it really is uncanny and creates opportunities to steal the ball very high up the pitch [Post edited 27 Oct 2024 14:07]

It's not like a Bernardo or David Silva would have been particularly big, not that he's on that level but he did show signs of PL quality last season I think the biggest fear was the off the ball defensive work and disappearing in games against the more physical sides I get why we have been playing Omari, particularly if we want a bit more running power on the break but he lacks the footballing intelligence at the moment to really make that number 10 role work I do wonder if McKenna would have moved him to the right had he have been fit yesterday, perhaps Ogbene's injury will force his hand anyway

But he's shown what he can do even against higher opposition so I'd be highly pssed off if sat he is dropped and hutch is played in the 10. At the moment in time apart from hutch for Burns all other outfield players from yesterday play Saturday for me. Obviously clarke H can't so that will be either johnson or Oshea.
