That control, spin and run from Delap 23:04 - Nov 24 with 1449 views | Vic | Before he laid off to Burns to cross for for his flick. Delicious. And to think he’s a town player. It’s been a while!

That control, spin and run from Delap on 23:29 - Nov 25 with 1226 views | Miaow | The strength and power to surge forward past the United players was something to behold. And then that ball with the outside of the boot. It would have been a great goal had it ended up in the net.

The praise he is getting seems absolutely ridiculously over the top on face value. Then you look at it deeper and think that against Liverpool he had that ridiculous take down and run that could easily have ended up with him setting up a goal. Against Fulham he ran from the half way line, past several players before sticking one in the top corner from 20-25 yards. Against Brighton he almost scored a goal of the season contender running from just outside his own box to their six yard box. Against Villa he made them look absolute mugs turning them inside and out on his way to an exceptional finish for his second goal of the afternoon. Against West Ham he turns and powers a shot in from a position where he had no right to shoot. Against Brentford he scores one and almost gets another superb strike late on. Against Spurs he absolutely bullies two centre halves, twists and turns past some more players and sets up a chance. Against Manchester United, he turns them inside out, drives forward, plays an incredible pass and gets on the end of the cross with a backheel that would have been another goal of the season contender. He's 21 years old and he's looked good against Liverpool, Villa, Spurs, Man Utd and had moments where he's absolutely bullied them, he's one of the top scorers in the Premier League, for a side down the bottom and he's got no real weakness. He's got strength, pace, skill, vision, passing ability, the absolute lot. Feels like we are watching the start of a player who is going to go to the absolute top.

Good shout that he reminded you of Kevin Beattie, it reminded me of Roy of the Rovers - Delap just needs a '80's haircut.

The old flowing locks as he Tiger Tanks up the field! I bet he’d be happy playing in a short sleeve shirt, no gloves or tights in about -10 degrees in Eastern Europe as Kevin once did! Edit: loved it when he knocked that bloke over. The United player stood up and squared up to him but you could see the fear kind of spreading over the MU player’s face when he looked at Delap. His team mates herded him away pretty quick. Good luck taking him on mate! [Post edited 26 Nov 2024 9:19]
