Awful decision. Worst presenter I've seen on TV in a long time, sport or otherwise. I didn't know she was a nepo baby until today, but now it's clear that's how she got a presenting job in the first place. Primary qualification for the role should have been wit, and Kelly Cates is completely devoid of any. Plus she can barely read the autocue, the number of enunciation mistakes she makes is awful. You can sense the Sky Sports pundits alongside her are embarrassed about how unprofessional she is. Now it's hobson's choice during major tournaments: adverts or a banal, prosaic presenter. IMO, Lineker was fine and she’ll be just fine too. Given we’ve got on-tap highlights all over the internet within minutes of the games, I’m surprised people still watch it. I rarely do. I’m not in the slightest bit interested in Shearer’s inane views. |  |

Kelly Cates & Gabby Logan have been excellent presenters for the past 15 years, both would do a good job.
Given how much the BBC love box ticking I'm relieved it wasn't Alex Scott who isn't at their level. I'm not the biggest fan of Lineker but he developed into a decent presenter, given that his first couple of seasons presenting he was the most ill suited person to do it and was shocking at it. | | | |
