The actual crimes themselves beggars belief, I can’t imagine any men I know doing this. Let alone the fact the husband was caught because he was seen up skirting etc. it was total chance this was all uncovered and there are more men to catch still.
It also makes me question if the sentences are far too lenient. What a brave woman she is to come forward and seek justice too. Astounding bravery for me. |  |

What I find so shocking isn’t so much the actions of this 1 individual, but that tens and potentially hundreds of other men were complicit in this and nobody seemingly exposed him. How many people must’ve known locally, or been ‘invited’ to take part, yet his hit rate was either 100% or those that declined presumably didn’t sound any sort of alarm. In that respect very different to the Steve Wright case or any other individual lunatics, they’ll always exist, but the sheer number of accomplices in this case makes it absolutely mind blowing. I suspect it's possibly down to fact people explained it away as he "sold" them a situation where he vouched for her consent and making her unconscious removed a huge barrier.

Yeah, the whole 'we didn't know she wasn't consenting to the sex' line thrown down by a large number of the perpetrators is staggering.
What sane, decent man would perform sexual acts on a women who appears asleep or unconscious, based on someone else's insistence that she consents?
France is one of many countries who do not have 'intent' or 'consent' properly addressed in their sexual offence laws. That the insufficient wording of said laws led so many of these men to attempt to defend themselves using such a disgusting excuse highlights a gaping hole in the protection of women in the country.

Presumably he was on some pervert dark web site where everyone was as equally perverted. You’d certainly think if he was flouting his behaviour in public that someone would have spoken up. Although he was earlier disregarded in relation to an other crime despite there being evidence linking him, so I suppose there’s no guarantee anyone would have pulled him up even if they knew and fk ups happen. | |
