Unpopular opinion incoming 20:22 - Dec 21 with 2028 views | nodge_blue | He has been getting rave reviews recently. Some people suggesting he is on course for POTS. But for me whilst Burgess is a good defender who you can rely on to make tackles, headers and be brave....i dont think hes good enough on the ball at PL level. Passes are too slow, control is too slow and many forward passes are wayward. For me Greaves is as good on the defensive side and far better on the ball. If we are going to stay up we need to get our best players on the pitch and get them in form and playing.

Unpopular opinion incoming on 20:26 - Dec 21 with 1912 views | Dubtractor | I'm inclined to agree. Burgess has done well for us this season, but his limitations were very much exposed today. Even on the 4th goal (which clearly wasn't exactly game changing), he intercepted the ball, but his first touch gave it straight back to them in the penalty area.

Home matches I have. Even when he has had a decent game, id say O'shea has looked better. And its not so long ago many were moaning about him. But look at o shea. His control is much more natural and quicker. He also is capable of dribbling the ball out of defense. You can see more positive attributes. And as for Greaves i think he was player of the month at the start. He had an iffy couple of games and then got injured. Hard to judge his form when he hasn't played. But ive seen what he is capable of and for me its a higher ceiling. We are probably going down as we are and i think we need to trust in our best players and trust they come good. That may well include Phillips as well.

So O'Shea is better than Burgess? Agreed, but that doesn't mean Greaves should replace Burgess. Greaves has looked poor when I've seen him, Burgess has been largely solid especially in the last few games.

Unpopular opinion incoming on 21:02 - Dec 21 with 1414 views | bournemouthblue | this was always going to be the kind of opposition he struggles against, you don't want him getting into a running game with sides like this I wonder if we'll consider five at the back against Arsenal and maybe bring Greaves in to the left of him?

Yea Mick Mills was suggesting that. I also dont like how much space we afford all the left wingers. Today it was gordon. Before that it was Semenyo. They are too good to be left free and running at us. Managers can see we are exposed down the flank and our right back slot is an issue without Tuanzebe. So a switch to 3 centre backs and wing backs is what id do for these next 2.

Unpopular opinion incoming on 21:12 - Dec 21 with 1300 views | DJR | I am not sure that Greaves would have made a difference today because the passing and movement of Newcastle was so good, and our defence often had only 3 at the back to cope with it, something that Mick Mills mentioned.
