Got to say I'm surprised whilst not surprised by kms post game thoughts 22:31 - Dec 21 with 1647 views | FrimleyBlue | Never one who's gonna come out and blame players of course but I think it's quite an over exaggeration to say we broke the press well at times etc. We didn't really did we? If you feel we did fair play but I can't say I noticed that. He spoke of Sammy 1 on 1 chance.. he was about 4 yards offside anyway. And apart from broady in the 2nd half.. how many shots on target did we have? I knew he'd support Muric in his post game thoughts. I was surprised many still don't understand muric is doing exactly what he's asked to do. No good wanting different when that's his instructions. I want him to throw the ball out quicker and get a break going but clearly he's told to hold onto it and let us settle instead. I don't want this thread to turn into another 6 page slagging match about my thoughts on KM. I think I've been fair today on players and management set up. I do wish KM would move away from whats worked in the past as its clear its not enough for this level with this level of squad so let's see something different ala spurs as we are really struggling to get through games at the moment. Even wolves last week we could and probably should have lost with their chances in the 2nd half. I know its not fashionable to question a successful manager but the end of the day he is the man in charge and there's so much that just isn't working which he isn't seemingly willing to changing so it is concerning even with the mass credit he has in the bank. I'm a town supporter but a competitive football supporter too and part of that is wanting us to stay up. I'm not interested in this going down being stronger and coming up. There's no promises that can be made that it would happen its not that easy. Esp when many were shocked this squad made it up to begin with. So yes I would like to see something different from KM. Whether that's the spurs set up for a run of games or throwing in 3 Central midfielders etc. Anything other than status quo and wondering why we don't do anything.

I just don't see the learning curve. It's the same every week. If we saw different things I'd be like fair enough. But the same system with a few changes isn't gonna change much as we would still have the same underlying issues with lack of quality.

I agree Frimmers. We've also conceded a lot of early goals which suggests we're not starting in an effective defensive way. It didn't help playing three small, physically weaker attackers who just got swarmed by Newcastle. Physicality has become a huge part of Premier league football. To be fair, we did get Ogbenne who offered that. And obviously Delap who was missing too. The rest of the attacking players are all a bit powderpuff (although AAH put himself around with a bit of huff and puff).

Yet there was no discernable sign of a change in shape or approach, particularly in the first half. It was still a case of use our width and get the ball in the box... for the smallest players on the pitch to head.

We don't seem to set up our stool early on.. I know KM likes to start on the front foot..but we aren't good enough for that imo. Let's just start normally and settle into the game. Even the spurs win spurs should have scored within a minute.

So much nicer to read than reactionary typical post-defeat hyperbole. I didn't watch the game, so I won't comment on it, but I do agree that 'trusting the process' has much merit, but only to the point of not being obstinate. It's a tough call for our manager. I certainly wouldn't know what to do if I were him

I’m a big KM fan and think he has done wonders since he arrived. However it pains me to say that most thought the best signing in the summer was KM and whilst him staying was a good thing it wasn’t cheap. He also got what I thought was a good budget and you would think allowed to sign who and where he thought he needed cover. The injury problems have had a big impact on the first 11 but that aside we really should be adapting a bit more during games to grind out results. The reality is we need at least 2 more windows in this league before we even start to turn the tide and people need to understand it’s not a quick fix. So yeah I agree with KM being held to account, whilst he has a lot of credit in the bank with fans it has come at a high cost. He needs to start showing why he is one of the top 6 earners in the league before it’s to late.
