Bad day at the office, but it’s the first game for 2-3 months which we’ve just not been in from start to finish and that will happen.
Missed Delap big time, with no out ball we had to keep playing out and they could cheat and press the life out of us.
Absolute masterclass from Tonali and Bruno, as good as I’ve seen this season.
Too many players had an off day, from the first second of the game - Burgess, Morsy and Chaplin right through the spine didn’t have good games, lost nearly all their one v ones and can’t do that in the PL.
Tough couple of games coming up, need to get some players back fit and a couple of fresh additions - we only need to finish 1 spot higher than we currently are

Yes I have. I have also applauded Burgess efforts. KM clearly still didn't feel he was good enough tho as greaves was put in v palace despite Burgess being OK and playing well.
With greaves it's not just two isolated incidents. He literally looked like the best defender I'd seen since prime Berra, but he suddenly looked really ropey when oshea came in and not been seen the same ever since. Obv that's not to say he won't be.. but it's not enough right now to say for sure he'd be a prem target if we went down which was the question.

Yep, it’s the case that Greaves got a long term injury and Burgess came in and played excellently and didn’t deserve to be dropped…..although I’m not sure how long he can keep that up for as felt his lack of athleticism was badly exposed on Saturday and any games we want to play a higher line may require Greaves

Its amazing that I made a similar point about Burgess limitations on another post and got downvotes, but you have managed to get more ups!
… the number of off days McKenna and the team have delivered in the last 2 years” (on TWTV) whilst also making the same point as Joe does that this is not a time to overreact.
Made me think what games like Saturday have we had a collective no show from the starting 11 under McKenna??
Leeds and West Brom (a) last season.
And this term - West Ham (a), Everton (h), Palace (h), Newcastle (h)… and I’d say Everton and Palace did numbers on us in how they sat deep. Although individual errors also cost us.
Have there been other games this season when we’ve not shown up??
Lee also references the lack of Delap, how Szmodics struggle with the 9 role, I’d also agree with Joe and Alan Lee that Newcastle were class and we caught Tonali and Bruno in fine form.
Do hope we can maintain some confidence though across these tough games, as stated in this vid… that is so key

When you think of stable prem clubs. You must see that we need to effectively replace the majority of the past 2 season journey players.. that's close to 90% of the squad no?
Other way of looking at it. If you were a prem side. Which of our league 1 promoted squad would you be looking to sign from us? Besides Davis of course.
I know you like to make out I'm making hot takes. But serious conversation here.
Would agree, but not in the same way you put it.
It's just not possible to change them all, FFP does not allow us to put a £300m first 11 out like Newcastle did on Saturday.
Very obvious to all of us that quality in this league comes at a price.
