Moyes is a good and experienced manager, but the game has moved on… Ipswich, Brighton, Bournemouth, Liverpool, Newcastle have progressive and modern managers.

If you’re trying to start a new era, with a new stadium, and huge funds…. Would you choose Moyes?!

He will steady the ship, and leave them in a good position.. probably more about survival and getting through the stadium transition, moyes is a safe pair of hands, and has a strong connection with the club.

But with a squad of real quality - Rice, Bowen, Parquetta

Everton a different beast.

But agree probably underrated - and he may have his vintage season.

BUT, again we need someone to falter… if Moyes does succeed… then our survival chances erode

Europa Conference League winner. That's the equivalent of the Intertoto cup - not a bad achievement, but lets keep it in perspective.

The unfortunate fact of life in the Premier League is that for ~12 teams every season survival is the only real aim. There are financial benefits between finishing 8th as opposed to 17th and the odd team may make a cup run but really if the boards of West Ham, Brentford, Fulham etc. were offered guaranteed safety in exchange for not having to play a season they would probably take it.

Moyes will give Everton that - as much as their fans/club/previous success makes them a really important English football institution they haven’t won a cup for nearly 30 years and when they had a chance to kick on they missed out on the champions league revenue by losing in the qualifiers. They will stay up this year (and every season Moyes is in charge) but as a fan you almost want to risk throwing that double twelve (at the risk of the double one coming up and relegation happening).

Not so sure any manager can just make that side considerably better. They are a couple of CB short, No real threat from midfield or forward positions. Unless they can buy very well in the next 3 weeks, then I see them surviving (as they would have with Dyche) but not by much.
