I like it… but probably just as well that’s not on the front cover for this one, as not sure Umbro would be as keen!

Not for me either, but I can see its appeal, and I do like that there's been a real range of designs which should, hopefully, appeal to everyone.

On the plus side, my bank balance is grateful that they've not all been exceptional in my eyes!

Agreed. Doesn’t quite work. Best so far was Man Utd, Liverpool and Brighton.

Are the trainers meant to be a nod to Madchester?!

It's nice enough, I just don't get what the concept's meant to be.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

The artist has said the following:

"I wanted to explore football casuals and landed on Gazelles as a popular trainer choice for a lot of people, especially fans. I looked at kits, making the colours of the trainers tie in with each team's home and away kits, adding small details also to highlight each team using their relevant colourways.

"The colours at the bottom echo the motifs used on Manchester's Factory Records releases and the background colours are based on the Madchester scene.

"I decided to approach this with a bit of mixed media - hand painting my design in acrylic paints, adding fine details using acrylic paint pens, alcohol markers, and fine liners."

And Newcastle - bought that one for the Bobby Robson connection
The weakest were Everton and Eveton in my opinion

So that's why the colours bottom right seemed familiar!
