Said it in the summer, the whole situation does not sit well with me.

Seems like a lot of disruption which we could well do without in a really important transfer window.

Surprised Ashton has carried on with the agent as well, he was a nightmare in the summer, and that has not changed. Plus Villa replacing him like for like is not making me think he is going to solve all our issues.

He's averaging 0.28 chances created per 90' in the league this season. 0 goals, 0 shots on target, 0 assists, 0.05 xA, 0 crosses into the penalty area, 33% dribble success. He's in the bottom 1-2% of players across the big 5 leagues in most attacking aspects, once minutes are averaged out. This is from 14 mostly cameo appearances: 332 PL minutes and 121 CL minutes.*

There's 200 pages of opinion on their forum, including performance assessments against each team, if you don't know Villa fans personally or are sceptical of stats. Hopefully the problem has mostly been confidence. Their fans mostly wish him very well.

*Al-Hamadi has 125 PL minutes under his belt from the same number of games (11), for perspective.

I'll ask again, "Which fullbacks schooled him?"

We can all trot out stats, but you admit yourself he's only had cameo appearances, so the stats are skewed.

So anyway, "Which fullbacks schooled him?"

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Well, there are still weirdos who hold a grudge we didn't sign Curtis tilt. Technically, these negotiations have spanned 2 windows now, and the first time the choice was not town. I think there will be a fair number of people with a bit of a ingrown hair when/if he signs.

Different scenarios each window though

I don't see what you're trying to achieve here? Pick a game he played in, flick through the massive thread on the man on Villa's forum, and read the thoughts of those who watched the game, if you're interested. It isn't behind a paywall.

I think it's obvious to most that when a player has no attacking output to speak of across his 11 games, including a very low success rate of dribbling with the ball, in addition to the readily available opinions of those who've actually watched him all season, that he's been in the proverbial pocket of defenders he's come up against.

I'd much prefer to focus on what a new start may bring for him though, so am not going to flood the forum with those numerous comments. If you can't be bothered then you evidently aren't interested (I'm not suggesting you should be).

Basically, you've just looked at some stats. You haven't actually watched him.
So when you said "fullbacks schooled him" you had no idea what you were talking about. You made it up.

And given he barely played any minutes, saying "across his 11 games" is disingenuous too.

Not to mention you can't really get into the flow of games if you're only getting the odd few minutes.

I know it's not nice being caught out but rather than all this deflecting, just hold your hands up.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Silly fella, aren't you? You waded in clueless about the first half of his season, that was obvious. And how can it be disingenuous to provide the full information on a player's involvement? I literally provided his minutes and appearances together in the same paragraph, probably the same sentence. Embarrassing behaviour really, clutching like that.

My summary was based on the extensive, numerous reviews of Villa fans, in combination with data which overwhelmingly corroborates the modal opinion and thoughts on both individual performances and his overall time there, and the absence of video highlights which contradict this, and a small sample of live footage which didn't either, and the timeline of events which supports all the above, including Emery decision to stop playing him altogether from early December, and the decision to replace him in as early as one transfer window. I don't support Villa and haven't pretended to. Obviously I've been watching our games as often as I can, not theirs.

A non-Ipswich supporter would be able to provide a summary of Al-Hamadi's life in the PL so far and how he's fared against PL centre-backs, without owning a ST, from reading the copious opinions of genuine fans on this website, alongside stats and MOTD highlights. If you don't think that's possible, i really can't help you. The subject of history would blow your mind, incidentally (learning in general, perhaps).

My choice to not comply with your silly request to compile this list of players is because 1) it's a wholly negative exercise on a potential new recruit, now confirmed new recruit, 2) the information is available for you to do it yourself, if you're that way inclined, and 3) it's a dumb question, given it may be effectively answered without engaging in your negative exercise. It isn't "deflecting".

If I had done it, what would have been gained? What would you have been able to do with it? You wouldn't have sought to corroborate or contradict it, I know that. My guess is you would only have asked if I saw the performances in full myself, as it's impossible to know what happened, to your mind, without sole reliance on one's own eyes. That's an eye-opener.

Going forwards, I'm excited we've landed a talented young player who wants to be here, and who will be very keen for a fresh start at this level. I'll be giving you a wide berth too, for the benefit of the forum. Apologies to anyone else who's wasted their time reading this.
