When Stuart Watson is not on it, which is far too often, it can be a tough listen. The heady days of Watson & Andy Warren together are badly missed, although we can't blame Andy for taking on a dream job with the club.
I find with the pods these days, when not even Stu is on it, the reasonable reporting & analysis from new boy Alex, is barely worth the irritation of the 'banter' from the other two.
Just my opinion, perhaps I'm being harsh?

I like Heathy and Watson, Alex is improving but I a never going to fill Hutch’s shoes.

But Ross - my god - he was amusing for about 6 months when his main role was to host The Strike - but why they get him to provide commentary on the game is laughable.

I do listen most weeks, unless it’s starts ‘Its me Rossy in the host chair this week whilst Heathy is in the Peak District…’ - I never get any further.

Im grateful for this thread as been feeling super guilty for disliking Ross on KOA. Glad I'm not alone. Just all abit weird that he's positioned as the affable dope work experience kid, when he must be late 20's/early 30's?

There comes a point where failing your driving theory 20 odd times, including multiple instances of forgetting to attend, becomes abit sad for a grown man?

Weirdly, I actually think Ross is a pretty good host - he seems to concentrate then and you don't get so much of his punditry.

On Talking Town, I think it probably gets an unfair rap. I think Martin hosts it very well, and Matt can be a good listen, but it's begun to skew very, very negative as our results have flatlined, which I find pretty grim. And some of the regular guests are unlistenable.

It really doesn’t. If it wasn’t so irrelevant then you’d see it discussed more on here and for no positive reason at all. A proper stain on the fanbase due to their past behaviour.

Do either ever go to the games?

At least the others podcasters actually see the games live.

Yes, noted on their behaviour. Not massively aware of it all, but realise they've let themselves down multiple times.

I think if people were made aware they’d have disappeared a long time ago. Certainly not family friendly stuff.

Blue Monday is a clear favourite, but I do think people are being a bit harsh on KoA now too. Andy and Stu were a great double act, and understandably it's a bit different now, but I still find it very enjoyable and informative, if perhaps a little rambling at times.

Overall, I still really like it, and I think we're blessed with two very, very good podcast groups here, particularly when you compare with our neighbours, whose effort wouldn't even make third place here, and that's saying something.

If you think Alex doesn't talk well about football then I'm baffled as to what you're listening to.

As for Ross being part of it, it's clearly an EADT team that is limited on numbers. Given he's part of the media team there and goes to every game, it makes complete sense. Besides, he's clearly supported Town all his life.

It is what it is though, they are putting out a product aimed at getting listeners and drawing attention to their articles. Using someone just because they work in the team and go to the games doesnt mean they will be any good at it. Im sure there are others within the wider team who might add to it.

Meant to add that I also noticed that Stuart Watson has turned up a couple of times recently as the expert voice to give insight on ITFC games on The Totally Football Show.
If we stay up, I wouldnt be surprised to see him move to The Athletic and is perhaps being primed for it, since they dont currently have a resident ITFC reporter- Id wondered when we went up they might have done that, but maybe just waiting to see what the interest in like.

Stu certainly is a very good journalist, and it is perhaps surprising he hasn't practiced his craft at a higher level.

Yes, have had the same thought. Every PL team typically has a dedicated Athletic reporter. If we survive, they'd be in the market.
