Any news on Wes' injury yet ? 21:17 - Jan 30 with 2766 viewsArnieM

Or hasn't he had his scan yet....

However, I'd understand if the club is unwilling to disclose any info. Sorry if this has already been asked.

It wouldn't be entirely surprising after seeing the replays of the incident. You've got to feel sorry for Wes if this is true, I finally thought he was growing into this season and starting to show the right stuff after looking rather below par for the first half of the season.

I agree. I thought he was starting to believe he could play at this level.

Yeah, it looked like he had added a little more aggression to his game.

He just didn't look fully fit after the injury against Liverpool, until probably the Chelsea game. Gutted for him

He was just recovering from the last injury he had, he's started to look good and is now injured again. He's a bit like Hirst, the body isn't holding up. They can't get a run to establish themselves.

Im fully expecting a season ending injury atm if truth be told. If it is young you going into next season as well then that sounds like an ACL injury, which did look the case when I saw the MOU.

Best wishes to Wes and for a speedy recovery. But going forward for him, I think he'd made a half decent right back in his more senior years.

Not sure about the body not holding up bit, certainly not for the recent injury - that was a planted foot, overextended, with the opponents weight coming through in opposition to his own momentum. 99% of players get that injury in that precise circumstance.

I suspect they already know what it is, he had swelling on his knee which wasn't good

It looks like ligament damage, if that is the case, that's likely to be a 6 - 9 months recovery and he presumably will have surgery very shortly with that being the case

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

He's out for the season, which is awful news.

Dunno if Wes reads TWTD, but if he does, I send him very best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. Its been brilliant watching Wes' journey, from L2 with Fleetwood to Premier League and last month absolutely bossing Cucurella in the Chelsea game as a real highlight. We will really miss Wes in the run in, his physicality has been huge for us. Long old road to recovery, but hopefully back for the start or 25/26 in the Premier League again.

A huge blow. With Ogbene out as well, he is the only one that can really play the RWB role when we play five at the back. As soon as he went off against Liverpool, I lost hope of getting back into the game because while Johnson is good if you are grinding out a 0-0 draw, I couldn't see how we were going to get a counter-attack goal without Burns on the pitch. Considering he looked out of place in the Premier League and lacking confidence in the start of the season, never willing to try and beat his man and instead just firing the ball into a defender, hoping for a corner, the level of improvement has been outstanding, and showed against Chelsea and Brighton. He is now a Premier League player that is vital to the team.

I would suggest we need a new player of the Burns/Ogbene mould on loan until the end of the season.

They'd all laugh at me if they knew what I was trying to do. To create a new strain of super-wine in half-an-hour with a fraction of nature's resources and a FOOL for an assistant. 'Bernard Black, he's mad,' they'd say, 'he's insane, he's dangerous.' Well I'll show them! I'll show them all!
