Putting my personal views on the whole inheritance tax debate aside, I don't understand the logic in annoying the people you are trying to get on-side..
Extinction Rebellion and Just Stop Oil tried it and (IMO) alienated the majority of the public, who now just think they are irritating berks. May have worked historically but I can't see these tactics working in the society we live in today.
If anything, the climate change activists were more likely to be supported as their protests are for a (largely) selfless cause. |  |

I read somewhere that a good chunk of the IHT hit can be avoided by setting the farm up as a Limited Company. But I suppose that wouldn't let the majority Tory/Reform-supporting farmers have a pop at the Labour government. | |

This - we’ve already exported out energy security- that went well. People would soon be raging if global food shortages caused prices to go through the roof. We should be as self-sufficient as possible, COVID exposed how fragile supply chains are, and BREXIT, Ukraine/Middle East how we are at the mercy of price shocks on imports. We’ll see more crop failures in the future driven by climate change.

The price of wheat is £170 practically the same as it was 25 years ago. With inflation it should be nearly £350. If people laid what food is worth people wouldn't have to sell there tools to stay afloat. | | | |
