I say regular, not *that* regular because I normally have to remortgage first to afford their 12-can pack!

😁😁 Yeah, they are pricey but so nice! Just got a few in from Hopsters in Ipswich. Have been my favourite brewery for about 2 years now!

I really recommend them. It is expensive but it makes the beer more enjoyable if that makes sense as your really savour and enjoy it. I'll give duration a try!

Will pop past next time I'm feeling well-off (nice as they might be, they're pushing my limits of the £ per can I'm willing to pay!).

I agree with all on here, they produce some stunning beers.

If anyone finds themselves back up in Liverpool later in the season for the Everton match, The Ship and Mitre had a huge bottle-shop selection, and plenty of good beers on pump. Also the Roscoe Head was the NorthWest CAMRA pub of the year last year, the care they took pulling the pints was precise, and they came out crystal clear, they obviously know how to handle/rest the casks well.

I'm pushing 500 unique beers since I started using it about 3/4 years back, so untappd is really useful to keep track!

Roscoe Head is one of the OG pubs in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide, its one of only 5 (might even be only 4 now) pubs that have been in every edition since 1972. yes they absolutely know how to do beer there.

Any recommendations for Manchester (ideally near Picadilly)? I have vague memories of Peveril of the Peak being decent?

Not really a CAMRA type place but the Piccadilly Tap close to the station always has a very good choice of beers.

Excellent place, the Roscoe Head. Not just the beer but the various sitting rooms and the staff.

I'd recommend my local brewery, the gunmetal black lager is interesting and the steeplechase pale is excellent. https://roundcornerbrewing.com/

Peveril of the Peak is a very good pub, it can be quite busy at times, so you have to choose your time to visit, though youll get served quickly, there can just be nowhere to sit or even stand sometimes and the outside seating its a bit grim when you are basically sat in intersection of traffic surrounded by tower blocks. the Rain bar which is almost opposite though is quite a good alternate option though if the Pev is too busy, JW Lees pub, so you only get JW Lees beer + lager options but its fine and its kind of craft/cask/foody place, but it somehow caters for all of those and has a really nice outside bit in the summer. Rising Sun is another good pub to visit in that area, I believe its one of only a few pubs that has entrances on two different streets in the country. and there are a couple of tap rooms of craft breweries round there, but you have to check opening days as they arent always open. the Marble Arch is I think my must visit pub in Manchester. its within half a mile of Piccadilly, & the Manchester Bitter is based on the original Boddingtons recipe.
