is that team in the position its in the league ? i thought with 11 men we would have easily won it - we look at worse like a 12-14th position club ....... well done and keep going - 3 points from the next 2 games will do us well - although 6 is possible !

Too many points dropped from Muric errors and a hesitant defence worried about said errors in front of him. We sign and play Palmer two weeks earlier and we'd possibly be sat in 17th today.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

They play some lovely stuff at times, if not always clinical. They’ve held their own in the Champions League so shouldn’t be underestimated that we’ve been undefeated both home and away.

This is the sad truth of it - in a season if only's and fine margins we've fallen the wrong side of, not getting Palmer in the summer may turn out to the consequential of them all.

Muric has absolutely killed us this season.

Albeit, this doesn't feel like a day for bemoaning what's gone before and celebrating a heroic performance today.

That is the strongest 11 we've put out to start a game this season.

Would've probably been strong enough to win the three points with a better referee.

Look at the difference in debut between Muric and Palmer. Says it all.

Fair to say though we would have played it very differently had it stayed 11v11.
I happen to think we’d have lost it. The resilience and determination saw us to a fantastic point where as our approach I believe would have been to be braver and look for the win.

Fine margins. You can be competitive between the boxes, but it’s what happens at both ends that counts. Like losing Stewart in the 2001/02 season. It’s game over when either end breaks.

Plucky performance and excellent goalkeeping aside, we were on the right side of the margins today.

This thread could easily be about how unlucky we were to have lost 2-1.

We are where we are in the league because we’ve often been second-best / played poorly against teams near the bottom; and when we play against the top, top teams we can seem quite average; and undoubtedly have not had much luck.

Don't mean to be rude about us - what a performance today! - but I thought the match reinforced our respective league positions really. We created one decent chance in the game, which we took brilliantly, so clinical, and otherwise we defended like lions. They dominated the ball against 11 men and then against 10, creating enough opportunities to win by a couple but we held on / held strong. Palmer was brilliant, MOTM performance.

We don’t score enough goals to kill teams and win games that’s the answer. Interesting to watch this play out over last remaining games

Basically just 7 points from 13 home games, 6 defeats from last 7.

Away we've been fine with 10 points from 12,

Libraries gave us power
