It offers a quick get away with very little traffic congestion and good links with the M6/M62. If you spend £5 within the Mall, you can get your receipt validated which gets you 4 hours free parking.

parking at the mall car park has changed now... you can't get a validation. Its now done by number plate, but you can just pay it on your phone whilst you're sat in the queue to get out... In my experience, getting out in the evenings is not fun... I've been to a show at the Lowry theatre that has kicked out at similar time to footy, and its taken over an hour to get out... If you don't mind park and ride, then Sale Water Park is right next to the M60, so if you get a tram on the airport line, then you'll be ok, but obviously, trams are rammed after the game, but it does tend to move through fairly quickly.

Yep. I’d advise using a tram stop near the M60 or on the south side of the city. Somewhere like sale water park has masses of space too. Dane Road is just down the road from the ground and right by the motorway too. Altrincham and Sale are both decent options for drinks and food before the game too, then hopping on the tram. That’s what I’ll do probably.

I live in Sale, so will probably get a pint or two before heading in. If anyone here fancies meeting before the game.
