that's very true. there is also a problem with two thirds of the population opposing current mass migration, and it being one of the biggest issues for them, but that issue being ruled out of legitimate debate. that creates for many a strong sense of powerlessness and being ignored. if you want to understand why people reject mainstream politics and turn to an git like farage it is in big part because mainstream politicians don't listen or (in the case of the tories) do the opposite to what they claim. it is true across europe - an insistence on pursuing mass migration with no popular mandate is pushing voters to the political fringe. or just pretend none of it is happening i guess. |
