Is mckenna out of his depth in the Premier league 21:41 - Feb 26 with 5787 views | Mckenna1263 | Serious question. Poor signings, persisting with Muric when obvious he was not up to it, poor tactics such as tonight. All we needed was to have one other club to underperform to stay up and Wolves have given us that opportunity. We have no system of playing and look disjointed. Tonight was the time to go for it and we showed zero ability. Bringing on Sammy at the end was laughable. Appreciate the promotions but Premier league is different standard.

Is mckenna out of his depth in the Premier league on 00:05 - Feb 27 by Bigalhunter | Seriously, what does Ali Al Hamadi have to do with tonight’s performance?? Your continual obsession with him is wholly predictable but still unnecessary and quite sinister.. [Post edited 27 Feb 0:15]

If you used your brain you’d have worked this out by yourself. He’s got nothing to do with the result, at all. My reply was back to someone saying about a Delap replacement and building for next season. AAH will likely be back here from his loan next season… Does that make it easier for you to understand?

I don’t disagree with your analysis but the whole playing club, management, scouting and player acquisition, coaching and playing is proving ‘out of depth’ based on the league table. This in its own right isn’t a reason to pile on to stamp feet in a rage. It’s the reality of who we are where we are and the history of 20 odd years away from top level football. We are building back and sure it would have been great if the season went differently, it has gone nearly as bad as I hoped it wouldn’t, but it was always a possible outcome. I do have a more immediate concern that we do appear to be getting worse not better and that is confidence shattering, I don’t know that that in itself should be an issue for KMcK or playing side come Aug, time will tell. Culture of persistent loss is quite tricky to turn around sometimes.

Is mckenna out of his depth in the Premier league on 07:40 - Feb 27 with 383 views | SuperKieranMcKenna | Some harsh criticism here which lacks any context. Most pundits and bookies had us coming bottom. We still had a squad containing many players we signed in L1, often from lower league teams. Finishing above two teams who were established PL teams and only in the Championship for one year is surely meeting/surpassing expectations. If not , chances are your expectations were unrealistic… I think some are ignoring just how tough the league is now, and the gap with the Champ is getting bigger. When you have tinpot teams like Bournemouth and Brentford fielding multiple players costing, or worth £40m+, how do you realistically cope with that. For all the talk of Luton, they still played some pretty dreadful football and went down anyway. At least we have a solid core for a promotion push next year - where are Luton now…

Is mckenna out of his depth in the Premier league on 08:27 - Feb 27 with 277 views | Zx1988 | To me it seems evident that, at the moment at least, McKenna is an exceptional manager when things are going well for him and the team. He comes unstuck when things aren't going so well, and seems to struggle to adapt his approach to try and turn things around. This season, and the mid-season slumps in the previous two seasons seem to back that up. He's a young manager and still learning, so hopefully he will take something from this season's experiences, and use it to improve himself as a manager. What I found myself pondering this morning, is where ITFC as a club decides to go with McKenna. If we go down, I think that it's a no-brainer that we should keep him - his performances in L1 and the Championship show that he's going to be our best bet to get us out of that division at the first time of asking. The question is what we do if we stay up. There are a few warning signals - signings, lack of tactical adaptability etc., that suggest that, at this stage in his career at least, he might not have the complete tactical nous to be as successful as we need him to be in the Premier League and, if we do somehow manage to stay up, consolidation is going to be so incredibly important next year, having managed to overcome the highest hurdle of staying up in the first place. At this point in time, and it pains me to say it, I'm not sure I would 100% trust KMc with that task. This seems to be a bit of a turning point in McKenna's burgeoning career, and his chance to prove that he can cut it at the highest level. The question, now, is whether he will turn out to be the next Bobby Robson/Eddie Howe, or hit his ceiling and end up another Daniel Farke/Chris Wilder; a manager who is exceptional at Championship level, but doesn't quite have what is needed to succeed in the Prem.
