Yep it really was a great effort. It does confirm for me we’ve made far to many changes this season however and if we hadn’t have done would almost definitely have more points….just my opinion.

I find that an absolutely staggering statement to be honest. I think the first half showed exactly why we had to sign players and make a lot of changes to the champ winning squad. The class difference was there for all to see and we had very little threat.
I thought we looked much better with Cajuste and Clarke and I think Greaves made a difference with his pace and played well. O'shea played well but Tuanzebe was already playing well. Delap is just a different level when he came on.
It was like a champ team Vs a premier team with the difference reduced a. It 2nd half and even more so I. Injury time. Decent battling effort tonight.

I think there is an element of truth in both viewpoints. We were a good Championship team that bought/loaned lower Premiership standard players ( we got lucky with Delap ). We also bought top Championship who had no or little Premiership experience. This combination did not work because there was on the job training going on in a very unforgiving league. We also seemed to be getting new players and getting new injuries on a constant basis which does little for team cohesion. Forest were clearly the better team but we coped with them reasonably in the first half and slightly better when our new signings came on but not order of magnitude better. The only thing I am sorry about is that we didn't use tonight's strategy in the league. I think we would have eked a few more points which probably would have saved us. It was a very honest effort and nothing was left on the field.
