Can anyone tell me when our halftime entertainment was an Opera Singer who came on and sung Nessus Dorma. I only need to know what year. Maybe you would know Phil.

Do you have a rough idea? Imagine it would have been 2009 for Sir Bobby but that’s only a guess.

Seem to remember it being during our premier league season 2000/01. I think it was some local girl who had designs on being a big opera singer. Can't remember he name? Laura something maybe?

PS. it's NESSUN Dorma.

That's what I was thinking too. One of the earlier games - maybe Arsenal or Villa? Don't remember the name of the singer either, but I do remember it was a hair on the back of the neck standing up experience. I thought it was a male singer but maybe I made that up.

During the chorus it sounded like the north stand singing along. We were chuckling in the Cobbold.

not sure though! In 2001, she'd have been about 11. Maybe I am getting mixed up, but I am sure she has sung at PR

I was in The north stand upper. The gentleman when finished singing took off his coat bow tie and shirt as he was wearing a Town shirt underneath.

....I sang "You're going home in an Ipswich ambulance".

Whatever happened to chants like that, and the classic "Dig a hole and f@cking bury him"?

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Can’t have been 2000-01 then if the north stand upper was built. Hmmm….

Pretty sure that was when we played Newcastle at home in 2000-01.

Only reason I remember is cos after he'd finished, their fans sang "you're not singing anymore".

Still makes me chuckle to this day.

I think Newcastle too, Rob Chandler called them uncultured heathens! I've always liked the Newcastle away fans.
