And its stark raving obvious what Ruben Amorum is mising.
I would not be surprised at all if they just went all out for Delap.
He would have had 2 in the first half where Rasmus Hoijland struggles.
Not that I want to lose him, just seems they might be one who come in with a big money offer. Then again they may go for some slight Portuguese No.9 player and thats just fine. We are lucky to have Liam Delap, hes top 5 striker in the league IMHO.

United look so average, so toothless. I’m still convinced Delap will go to Liverpool just as soon as they offload Nunez.

I was ready to disagree with that statement but you're probably not wrong.

Elite:
Isak
Haaland
Watkins

And then:
Delap
Wood
Mateta
Wissa
R.Jiminez
Kluivert
Jackson
Solanke

He does have to improve massively in certain areas though. Maybe it's just because he knows we have limited ability in attack and feels he needs to do it all himself, but his decision making is really bad at times. The Mateta goal at PR is evidence of this, he ran down a blind alley and lost the ball, they break and score almost immediately.

Hojlund's had a poor season but I think he's looked pretty good tonight.

Delap will go to one of the big six. It's too much of an open goal for one of them not to take it.

He would be (relatively) inexpensive, has massive upside and would probably allow the buying team to spend bigger on a #1 striker as well.

Arteta would have killed for Delap in his squad once he lost Jesus and Havertz. I can see Arsenal, Chelsea, City, Man U, Spurs, West Ham, Newcastle and Villa all having a good look at him.

Before people say no way City would want him...they need a back up to Haaland. He's cheap (again, relatively), known to them, decent enough to stick away the chances they create and a good back up option. Depending on the fee I can see them using their matching guarantee to take him.

Truly impaired.

I think that there's also the feeling that anyone not in the race to buy him will lose that potential to a rival. No doubt he is the youngest hot property English striker right now and would Chelsea want to let Arsenal get him, or ManU instead of Newcadtle etc etc etc.

Not hard to see there being a bidding war.

Omar Marmoush was bought by City in January. He is good. Whether they need a third striker and whether Delap would be happy as a back up striker, I don't know.

United have been helped by the ref who has given them a penalty every time they went forward.

One was so soft the United player had to tell the ref not to give it.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

Delap is far better than anything they currently have. He would be one that fits the way Ruben sets his team up.

Not sure Chelsea play that way for example.

I'd lose Leif over him. we might be able to keep Liam. I now also think people will come in for Omari, when I speak to other fans hes the one they are impressed by.

He will. I think Amorim might prefer his ex player Gyokeres though.
I would have said a club like West Ham would be a better next step for Delap though - a mid table club to refine his skills where he won't have the pressure that'd come at Man Utd, before he makes a £100m move to one of the "big 6"
