Been following football for decades and seems strange that these medical emergencies are happening increasingly more than I ever recall previously. Thoughts and prayers are with those affected.

They have always happened. Games have never been stopped before because of fan illnesses that is all. I know of at least 2 MIs during the 90s/00s at Portman Rd where the match wasn’t stopped.

I’m surprised that it doesn’t happen more frequently- how many people attend footie matches per week - around 500k?
If that was the population of a city, it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise if someone was rushed to hospital.

I’d rather this doesn’t become another anti vax looniest please. I know of a few times where people died in and around a game at PR and they were just put in an ambulance basically. Whether it’s a change in values or just a sign that clubs don’t want to be accused of not doing enough to save someone I don’t know.
