Three Forest matches 12:08 - Mar 16 with 1108 viewsGreenEye

I've been at all the Forest games this season. We were close in two and hammered yesterday. How can that be? Perhaps Nuno is a better tactician.

KMC is a smart lad and this season has been a tough education. I hope he's learnt from it because he was very smart last year with team selection and changes.

We had a defensive meltdown yesterday which we didn't have in the other two games. Interestingly the other two were away.

We were a better team with more of the core players available during the first game.

The second game we both played weakened sides to begin with and it was a cup game.

Yesterday they played their strongest side and were gunning for the Champions League, we have been resigned to the Championship for at least a month.

Our confidence is draining away, their confidence is like a sky rocket.

I said on another post, Forest fan on Talksport last night made the point the game was tight until Forest scored and then Town players were like 'rabbit in headlights' for the next 10 mins

That's happened a number of times unfortunately, Man City home game being the other obvious example.

Not sure there's a quick or easy fix though.

...and Newcastle at home.

Need to put on an Arsenal away type of performance if we're to avoid another drubbing in the return at St James' Park.

Yeah, it’s as much a confidence and belief thing now. Can add Manchester United, Spurs and Liverpool to the list for conceding more than once in short order.

Going in 1-0 down at half-time might still have seen us lose yesterday but would have still given us a chance. For a side that’s struggled for goals all season that kind of defensive trait is fatal.

I beg to differ. Going down 0-1 at HT would just result in more tippy-tappy backwards and sideways passing in out own half hoping to prevent Forest from scoring in the 2nd half. The story of the season a la Everton, Palace, Soton etc. at home. Going 0-3 down meant we actually took risks to go forward, albeit in a limited sense.

A short spell in which they scored 3 times with errors in defence leading to them all. Without that, we were very close to them. We scored 2 and missed a free header from Delap against a Forest team that are 3rd and have only conceded 35 goals in 29 matches.

There have been a few matches where a crazy spell has seen us concede several goals in quick succession. Man City springs to mind.

The thing I do struggle with is our form before January had us competing to stay up but since it has been very firmly bottom 3.
