From the Premier League to League One back-to-back is surely nowhere near as common as bouncing back to the Premier League.

I make you right: Swindon, Wolves, Sunderland relegations. Watford, Man City, Southampton, nodge, Town promotions. Unless I am missing some. Clearly others happened before the invention of football in 1993.

Right, but that's not back-to-back promotions

See above. 5 teams have done back-to-back promotions to the Prem against 3 with back-to-back relegations from it.

Gav can you suspend Phil’s up and downvote privileges until he can behave please? Becoming rather fractious on here of late.

And further down, Carlisle look odds on to be following FGR with back-to-backs from L1 to the National League. Easy to get relegated to L2 (4 teams) but much harder to NL, (2 teams), ... and very hard to get back up again. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

If I remember correctly Portsmouth and Blackpool also suffered back-to-back relegations not too long ago. Looking further back, I think we can also include Bristol City in the list

Pretty sure Wolves managed to go from Div1 to Div4 in 3 seasons back in the early 1980s, quite an achievement!
Luton Town on 18:55 - Mar 18 with 935 views | witchdoctor | well Northampton managed to go from division four to division one and back down to four all in the 60’s…never a dull moment for them in that decade….

Portsmouth's involved 2 seasons in the Championship so weren't back-to-back. They did then get a double relegation to League 2, though (so was 3 relegations in 4 seasons). Blackpool spent 4 seasons in the Championship but then suffered back-to-back relegations to League 2.

Both Wolves and Brizzle City did it in the 1980’s from first division to fourth in consecutive seasons. Would think it’s less likely nowadays with the parachute payments etc unless a club had points deduction numerous seasons

83 to 86 ... before football was invented. Interestingly it was around the same time (82-86) that Wimbledon got 4 promotions in 5 seasons to the top flight and then, of course, won the FA Cup in their second season up too.
