In terms of physique, aggression, ball winning and bravery we could lose our 3 best defenders - Burgess, Tuanzebe and O'Shea.
I fully get Burgess considering moving on, I'd want to start regularly.
Lots of talk that Tuanzebe may similarly be off which would be disappointing as he is clearly our first choice right back. I really hope we keep O'Shea and make him captain.
Woolfy and Greaves are very good players but not same style and maybe as a result not great playing together as need a Burgess or O'Shea type alongside them.

That midfield two really is the area where we need to (and suspect will) spend money. Wouldn't surprise me to see us spend £20-£25m there across two players if needs be. |

interesting replies, in particular the ones suggesting O'Shea and Greaves may both be too front-footed attacking to be a great partnership - will deffo have to look at that when they play together next.

Burgess - I'm guessing that is down to him now.
Tuanzebe - Total liability injury wise. Also, personally, I think he is over hyped. Probably our best right back, but that isn't saying much.
O'Shea - Some team might want him, but I doubt many will have him as their first 2 CBs, unless he goes to a promoted team again.
I'm sure we'll want to look at Clarke and Baggott again for next season.
We're going to be stuck with Johnson, so like it or not, he's going to likely to be playing and hopefully should be good enough for a decent Championship team. | | | |

O'Shea we must try and hang on to . He's a proper Rt CB, there's no one rise at the vkub currently, as good as him in thst position.Greaves could come hood again. He was fine until he got injured, but has never really got his mojo back. I'd love us to keep Burgess, but fully understand the Spanish offer is probably too good to say no to, so I wish him all the best. I suspect defence will be an area to strengthen, given we could lose. Axel, Burgess and pray not O'Shea in this group. |  |

Burgess has become a super player, we really need to re-sign him. I rate him highly, & feel he's the best defender we have. Rarely lets us down. Greaves has been very ordinary & rather disappointing. |  | | |

I suspect Johnson looks quite good in the Championship
The one we should have got was Jaden Bogle who Leeds signed instead, he was available on a free. I have no idea if he can defend but looks pretty good going forward, which Clarke is to be fair. | |

Herby's right though, Greaves and O'Shea don't have the right balance as a centre back pairing. Both want to attack the ball and leave us vulnerable in behind. However, that should be less of an issue in the Championship... |
It's also something which can be tuned, particularly given Greaves' age. But there's also real potential for a system change being worked up in the Championship ready (hopefully) for another crack at the Prem, with a three at the back involving the perfect cover/ old skool sweeper in Woolfie - who knows, the Italian defence might get a re-working as the next big thing. |  |
