Playing with ten men against a team amongst the best in Europe the players kept their heads up and played. Inevitably they got beat and certainly we need more physicality in the middle of the park but right to the end they tried to play decent football

You sound surprised that Morsy isn’t at the same level as players like Rice and Ødegaard. Were you actually expecting him to rip them a new one? You don’t need sentiment to realise they’re a vastly superior side to us. |  |

Yes, he did what he’s good at many times during the game - but has lost a yard of pace, and - as well as getting us out of trouble on occasion - also put us under pressure a couple of times.
He’ll be important as a squad player next season, and crucial to transitioning our midfield, but we’re entering a changing of the guard. I hope he’s pivotal to a successful next season, but don’t see him being part of our next venture into the EPL. | | | |
