I know people hate modern football, but that's surely a case of misplaced loyalty?

The tiniest of new manager bounces and they'd be up.

Should have sacked him

They gave him a new contract in December, or somewhere around then.

Their biggest issue is not adequately replace Nathan Lowe when he was recalled by Stoke.

Think they lost a loan player or two in Jan but even so it is a spectacular fall from grace.

Their record this season:

WWLWLWWWLDWWDDWDWWWWWWWWWLLDLDWWDLDLDDDDLLDDL

Nathan Lowe joined on loan in August after they'd won their first two games and he came on as a sub in their third match, a 1–0 defeat at Tranmere. He was recalled by Stoke in January, the day after Walsall had beaten Tranmere 5–1 in the return fixture. This was the eighth of nine consecutive wins. Their matches during his time at the club are highlighted in bold above.

The final-day fixtures that matter in the race for third:
Bradford City vs Fleetwood Town
Crewe Alexandra vs Walsall
Notts County vs Doncaster Rovers (Doncaster are already promoted)

Bradford are 3rd on 75 points (+18 GD), Walsall are 4th on 74 (+20) and Notts County are 5th on 72 (+20).

And now he can’t get anywhere near the stoke matchday squad.

It's simple, they lost Lowe back to Stoke in January. League Paper predicted they would slump week after it happened and bang on. Feel sorry for them, tho it's made dor an amazing race in League Two this year.
