He'd be on my list for next season. 32 years old, offer him 3 years.

Told me at the villa home game he’d like a return but it would probably be in another year.

He doesn't want to drop down to the championship yet, feels he's still Premier League level.

I had heard that because of his injury he can only play 1 game a week now.

He would be ideal and great to see him come back. That experienced head at the back would be invaluable. He’ll do for me.

He's been a regular starter in the league for Villa since recovering from that bad injury - hard to see him dropping down when he's already lost a lot of time in his career. Would love him here in 26/27 though if he's fit and if we do the business.

We won’t be buying central defenders next year.

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

not forgetting Creswell to come on and see out a game.

It's slowly turning into the McCarthy era again.

Seems to overly complicate things. Great player who we'd have to to truly bend over backwards for and then what? Would he truly be the answer if we were to go back up? He'd turn 34 in the season we're hoping to be in the prem again and already needs game management by the sounds of it.

Plus, depending on who stays, you'd be knocking Greaves or Woolf down the pecking order when they need to be playing at their prime forging partnerships. It's a no from me.
