The quickest way to end the ridiculous free for all in the penalty box at corners, is for the refs to blow his whistle and hand out 3-4 yellow cards…. Commence play, fouls re committed, second bookings and OFF. Yes it’ll make the game a 5 a side for a few games but the game is a farce in its current state anyway. Players being banned (several players in a team) for a game or two will sharpen the mind if they know they will be booked and eventually sent off. This is totally down to the players. |  |

On the subject of ‘housery - wasn’t there a directive earlier this season about only the captain speaking to the referee? That certainly hasn’t lasted - the Brentford players had at least three around the official pretty much the whole time. TBH I don’t think it always helped their cause, but it grinds my gears to see it.
I also wonder whether the fact that van den berg went down like the proverbial sack of whatever in an earlier challenge with Delap, holding his head, only to make a miraculous recovery, whether that might have counted against him in some of the later incidents - I would hope so |  | | |

If you recall they tried something like that a few seasons ago, possibly the season we went down to league one.
It was highly advertised that grappling in the box would lead to free kicks or penalties.
It lasted about two weeks.
We were the only team I can recall having a penalty awarded against them for grappling in the box.
next week it was all forgotten. |

That short corner idea sounds like great fun for the spectator, but would perhaps result in cavalry-charge type collisions and injuries. | |
