Does anyone think Man Utd would be a terrible place for Delap to go. They might spawn a champions league spot but the club is utterly dysfunctional and a graveyard for players?

Actually don't think it would be a bad move at all. United are a basket, yes. But their new manager only been there what 6 months, and with a squad everyone knows needs overhauling he is in a Europa Cup final - Also his record at Sporting, he hasnt just become a bad manager.

Manager will be bringing in new faces and getting some current faces out - United will be a different prospect come August, I am pretty sure of that. Delap goes there and starts scoring, he can become the main man.

I’m looking forward to the winter of this year when we hear that MA (the crafty little trader) negotiated a mandatory sell back clause in Delap’s transfer of ownership deal with his new club allowing Ipswich to buy him back at £35m upon our promotion to the PL. What a guy.

He should seriously consider Everton.

New stadium, ambitious new ownership - if they make a decent managerial appointment whenever Moyes finishes they could be a club on the up. And he'd be the main man there.

If he does it’s a poor decision by him and his people. Man Utd..where playing and managerial careers go to die

It really doesn’t interest me in the slightest where he goes, if it’s Man U and his career dips, the only thing I’d care about is the sell on fee we’d get/not get if he leaves them.

We’ll be good again... one day

Ha! You may well be right. Potentially a relegation release clause in his United deal*.

*If he goes there, all very much up in the air, from what I gather.

Its going to take an absolutely blinding season from him to get into that final squad isnt it?
WIth the little senior squad experience he has, and based on Tuchel's squads so far, hes gone for senior international experience for the main.

Do you think LD's camp have a high expectation a move away can lead to making the WC squad? Fair play to have that ambition, but he's got a fair way to go to get above Kane, Rashford, Watkins and even possibly Solanke (judging from past WC squads, except for Walcott 2006). Theres also a few others with senior experience who have had off seasons and may get the nod if they rediscover old form next season.

Oops, replied to the wrong post Phil...
