Looks like he's taking money from US extremists as well... on 15:53 - May 27 with 801 views | Mullet | What a mealy mouthed prick he is. “Free speech” when it suits and he’s bought and paid for by some very unpleasant and oppressive people. I’ve got no issue with people being anti abortion or euthanasia as a matter of personal choice, but proscribing it for others is appalling. The media skewing if Reform and Farage over the years is criminal too. No other party with that few MPs gets that sort of coverage.

I think banning abortion and limits on pregnancy terms are a different discussion between pro choice / pro life.

Placing limits on term(coupled to defunding services, closing clinics, etc, etc) has generally been the wedge used to push on for full bans in the US tho. As it stands, the 24 week limit in the UK is in place mainly to allow for safe and legal termination of pregnancy where there's a foetal death, severe foetal abnormalities(of the 'would lead to a short and extremely painful life if it goes to term' type or where it would endanger the life of the pregnant individual in question and exist to protect life, ironically enough. A lot of EU member states seem to have about half that of UK, so there must be different school of thought on terms I guess. I am very Pro Choice but just in the interests of accuracy, the US doesn't have a federal ban, like say Poland but obviously it has been overturned to the individual States. I think the current count was 12 and then 7 or so more with very short terms. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

There's a lot of Catholic countries in the EU. And a fair few run by the sort of people that Chairman Nige likes to call 'strong leaders'. Worth also pointing out that pretty much all of those those countries have a large number of exemptions criteria for beyond 12 weeks compared to large chunks of US in which there generally aren't. Some of the terms are incredibly short. Some use 6 weeks since their last period, which given an approx. 4 week cycle, plus some time for realising you're late, doesn't really give appropriate time to make such gargantuan decisions. Especially with the scarcity of providers in some states adding an additional time pressure to get booked in time. Hence why it can be a de facto ban for some as they simply might not realise they are pregnant in time.
