I was always surprised by the way we used him on the championship run in as he didn't get much game time. Then we go to the prem and he gets a decent amount of game time, then packed off on loan. Very confused with what has happened with Marcus in the last 15 months? Sounds like the manager was too. |

Always really rated Harness. Incredibly hard working, good at tracking back and defending and always a threat going forwards. As utility players go, I don’t think we’ve had a better one. I hoped he’d make the cut to be in our PL squad, but we ended up with 2 specialists for each position and no room for a great utility player. Wish him every success in the Championship. |  |

I imagine it works in our favour to let him go. If we give him another year we might not be able to sell him then have to spend money settling his contract. I doubt he'll be offered as much elsewhere as we paid him, so even if we did sell him after extending his contract, if he didn't request a move we might have to cover some of his wages. Or there might be something in there that says he gets a pay rise if we extend. I highly doubt we're doing this just for his benefit.
With someone young like Baggott, the wages will be a lot lower, so it's less of a gamble to extend his contract. | | | |

Good luck to him. The right decision imo. We just needed to move him on. This helps him get a new deal somewhere else quickly, as per his signing for Huddersfield today. That’s his level and he’s going to enjoy it more there than fighting relegation at Derby. |  |
