It would also be significant (if a much bigger task) to find out who was injured in terms of their importance to how the team plays and quality of cover within the squad.

It would also be significant (if a much bigger task) to find out who was injured in terms of their importance to how the team plays and quality of cover within the squad.


Whatever that might show, I think it's fair to assume our squad is weaker than our rivals, and we had a very high number of days lost to injury out of that weaker squad.
Very telling really isn't it.

Surely matches or minutes would be a more key stat. Additionally, it matters which players. If you have a young squad player who has hardly played missing, it is less of an impact than missing all your main strikers. Of course, there is a likely correlation and this stat supports what we already knew that injuries badly impacted us.
