Crikey I would not want to be in the trenches with some of you lot!

McKenna is not going to leave us to go to Brentford - a much smaller club who are about to lose some very key players. There is only one direction for them to go now and it is downwards.

Remember that we have literally built the entire club on the back of KmcK and he will never, ever get that anywhere else that he goes. He's with us and will continue to be so into next season. I honestly think if he was going to go anywhere, he'd have gone to Palace a few years ago (which he nearly did, in fairness) or he would've gone to one of the bigger clubs knocking on the door last summer.

Please can we not do this again, I can't be bothered with it.

To be fair, Brentfords stated business model is to lose players every season, and reinvest.

They have a best in class recruitment system to deal with that strategy. A recruitment programme that we can only dream of at present.

I'm not saying he's going, but just adding some key details.

Not sure. His belief in getting Ipswich established in the prem will have taken a massive battering last season. The financial gap feels bigger than ever.

Wouldn't surprise me if he just took on a steady established prem job as a stepping stone to one of the big boys. Will accelerate his career 5 years in reality.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

The much smaller club line is tosh.

They are an established PL team with more money than us. Stadium size, average attendance is all irrelevant when compared to that.

Brentford are one million billion percent a smaller club than ITFC.

You're absolutely right, and you're right that these details are key (or at least of some weight).

They're also in the Premier League, which is a pretty important consideration.

Again, I'm not saying he's going, but I don't think puffing our chests out after a chastening relegation is going to do an adequate job of making our club look either bigger or more attractive than Brentford.

Well maybe not, but I doubt Kieran McKenna will be reading my opinions about Brentford on TWTD before making up his mind.

"McKenna is not going to leave us to go to Brentford - a much smaller club who are about to lose some very key players. There is only one direction for them to go now and it is downwards"

I think he stays next season but this level of thinking is just stupid. Any established PL club is an attractive proposition and you clearly have been paying no attention to their model and how they have become successful.

We are arguably a bigger club than Brighton and it took a massive contract and a lot of backing in the market for him to stay last year.
