Where politicians are badly letting us down, cowering behind excuses and sucking up to old alliances in spite of morality, it's men like these sportsmen who are having to speak out for our country on political matters.

Yes. But also I do recall Morsy cowering behind excuses when it was very, very easy for him to do the moral thing and wear a simple rainbow to show solidarity with other minorities.

Surely Morsy would be branded a hypocrite to wear it if he or his religion does not agree with it. He was in a no win situation.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Other Muslim football players wear the rainbow laces. We are quick to criticise Christian evangelicals who object to homosexuality- don’t see why we shouldn’t criticise footballers for failing to back the campaign just because he’s Muslim.

If anyone thinks that they’ll have Tingly Teds shoved down their throats at football, then they’ll swallow any old load of guff.

Why does something that clearly has nothing to do with you bother you so much? It’s immensely amusing to me how those who love to cry “leftie” and “woke” get so wound up about something which genuinely has no impact on their life at all.
