sorry to be an old fart but this shocks me on 18:45 - Jul 3 by flykickingbybgunn | I can understand an abortion on the grounds of safety or rape or breakdown of a relationship. But to use it as a method of contraception in effect has to be wrong. It is a flagrant disregard of human life. I am not a religious person but this just feels to be wrong. |
That assumes a small collection of cells is "human life". But clearly its not healthy, psychologically or physically, to repeatedly do so. She was seemingly a bit of a mess when younger.

sorry to be an old fart but this shocks me on 15:22 - Jul 3 by jayessess | Doesn't strike me as a particularly efficient way to manage your fertility, but I can't see that "1 is fine, but 5 is too many" is a position that makes much philosophical sense. Either it's "her body, her choice" and accepting that women get to define what they think and feel about the foetus(es) they'r carrying or it isn't. |
I saw an article making a similar argument. But if I'm being completely honest I disagree. Things happen, call them what you like - heat of the moment, mistakes, accidents whatever and I think it makes sense that the option is there. But terminating a potential life is still a big deal even if it's right to have that choice so to do it over and over again recklessly and laugh about it (which apparently is how the conversation went) like it's as normal as a dental check up is different. That seems obvious to me. Still her choice but I think it's ok to consider that different actually and to have a different opinion on that over one time or two times etc.
