Harrowing account of July 7th bombings on 09:40 - Jul 6 with 675 views | BloomBlue | I remember it, probably because I was on another tube train near the train they blew up towards Edgware Road. We had to get off the train and walk back to the station, people crying, shaking. I don't think anybody at that point really knew it was a bomb and had assumed it was some type of crash. It was incredibly dirty in the area, like soot everywhere, and stepping on things you couldn't see. I was on my final few days at a company, and wanted to get there to continue, my handover etc. After being helped out of the station I knew i wasn't injured, but could see injured people being helped. I decided I couldn't help, as load of emergency services were there and I would probably end up more of a hinder. I thought the office is closer I'll go into the office as normal. It was around 11am by the time I got in and thought the person on reception looked at me strangely. But as I walked into the actual office, I was immediately stopped by a colleague, with concern all over his face. It became clear I had soot all over my face, head, clothes. Even to this day, I dont know how I didn't notice it. Then it became clear it was bombs not an accident, the office had hardly anybody in because people were stuck with no public transport. I decided I would stay and work as normal, but strangely I cannot remember anything else I did for the rest of that day. I only remember it really up to the point of getting into the office, I remember like yesterday. * I would like to add travelling with me is probably not a good idea, I was in London Bridge when the ira set off bombs, and Mrs Bloom is always concerned that things come in 3s.

Harrowing account of July 7th bombings on 13:29 - Jul 6 with 313 views | Churchman | Due to some stuff I was involved in a year or two later, I got to see a lot of footage that’s never been shown - and I hope it never will be. Horrific. On the day, I was working in the Elephant and Castle area. Mrs C actually phoned me to tell me there was a problem. We didn’t have a tv or internet access but we did have a radio and it became a question of what the best thing to do was to get the staff safely home. This we did during the early afternoon. The following day, myself and a couple of colleagues had to go in and shut down the computers and buildings in the area we worked as the staff were told to stay at home. We did that and as the trains etc were iffy, I decided to walk to Victoria to get home after a spot of lunch. London was deserted. It was the most odd feeling walking through normally bustling, famous parts of the city bar one or two people, on one’s own. Like a film set. People respond to awful events in all sorts of ways. Fight or flight, chaos, panic, calmness, logic, you name it. There’s no right or wrong and you never know how you are going to respond until you face it. Fortunately I was well out of the way of the 7/7 horror, but did have experience of the IRAs delightful efforts. My thoughts tomorrow go to the victims and their families of that cruel, indiscriminate event 20 years ago. May the perpetrators rot in hell.

After that attack, as a regular commuter on the line the bombers travelled in on, I became very wary of young Arabic looking men in my carriage wearing backpacks.

Harrowing account of July 7th bombings on 16:14 - Jul 6 with 132 views | ITFC_Forever | Can remember those few days as clear as anything. 6th July: London awarded the 2012 Olympics. 7th: The bombings in London. 8th: REM at Portman Rd. Wife didn’t go as she was over 8 months pregnant… rings me just as they go off for the encore saying her waters had broken, but not to come home as contractions hadn’t started. Stayed to the end of the show. 9th: Wife went into labour. 10th: Daughter born at 00.40 by C section. A few days full of extreme emotions of all kinds….
