Portman Road observations from the Ed gigs…. 23:52 - Jul 12 with 3883 viewsMatt_Netherlands

Couple of things I noticed from a different vantage point:

1. The view from the away end is sickeningly good. We were in VU2 but first couple of rows of VU3 must be pretty much the best seats in the house - directly opposite and level with directors box. Sooner we get that moved the better.

2. The new floodlights come on bleeding quickly. Not like the old ones which took 10 mins to warm up.

3. It looks smarter now than a few years ago, but the Brittania stand really is a bit of a mishmash with multiple small tiers, the press box taking up so much space, so many pillars etc.

4. Finally…. The north stand looked incredible with the floodlights off as the sun was setting behind it.

I’d rather have the away fans tucked up there than at an end tbh. Plus we know any of them over 5’10” will be in agony trying to fit in those cramped rows.

I bet FPR is looking stunning in the evening sun over these few days. The weather couldn’t be better for these gigs.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

The grown up equivalent of the lights slamming on at 3am as they try to kick everyone out of Liquid back in the day.

It looked amazing.

We sat in the Pioneer lower behind the away dugout and as the sun was setting, PR looked incredible.

VU3? Is that what used to be Block E? That'll go back to home fans now I assume.

Watching the concert on the disabled raised platform was good!

Perfect height for the new stand Mr Ashton! No obstruction from cameras ball boys security etc ( German ground)

I loved how ed quickly changed the speaker system as he knew it was inadequate. I hope it remains.!

It looked like you were in the blazing sun for much of it!

Yeah, we were in VU2 - brilliant view! Plus, away fans have far better toilets than home fans! Was impressed. At 6ft, rows were very cramped though.

I’m only 5ft 9 and still found it cramped. Most amusing part of the night was two largish women at the end of my row getting wedged between the seats as one tried to squeeze past the other. Fortunately they knew each other and found it hilarious themselves.

Can’t reply to that tweet because he blocked me for some reason but that was in for the boxing and that particular video is when they filmed the promo for it.
