KM and Samy - what a partnership 00:03 - Jul 16 with 1554 views | jasondozzell | Morsy on KM "My first impressions of the manager were that he was thorough and really detailed. In his first statements and how he spoke at meetings, he said he wanted this club to be a big club again and explained what it would be like." I think I knew instantly,” he says. “He said he wanted us to be a big club, the training and individual coaching were very good, so in week one you’re thinking: ‘OK, this is going to be good.’ I was 30 and you want to be enjoying your football, it can’t be a chore. We had a conversation, he told me what he thought, I said I feel good and I’m always looking to improve. He’s pushed me ever since.” Km on Morsy "I think we have an absolutely outstanding captain both on and off the pitch,” McKenna said of Morsy. "Someone who leads by example day to day on the training pitch and somebody who leads by example on the pitch in games. We couldn't ask for any more in terms of the leadership that we have." 💙💙💙 If it has to end, I hope the club do something to give Samy a real send off. Still think we should have offered the extension.

KM and Samy - what a partnership on 02:05 - Jul 16 with 1265 views | itfc1108 | It's funny to think that Sam wouldn't have come here if it wasn't for Paul Cook. And that Kieran probably wouldn't have ever tried to sign him, if he hadn't been here already.

The most impressive thing about KM in those first 6-18 months was he largely used the players he inherited whilst implementing a totally different style of play. The change in individual players performances was incredible.

I still remember his second game in charge away at Gillingham. He'd had about ten days working with the players at that point. Now granted, Gillingham were hopeless, but the way he had us playing that day was insane. We were cutting through them with ease, zipping it about on the deck, playing at a high tempo. Complete opposite of what we'd seen from Cook. I suspected then that we'd got ourselves a good un.

Yep. And Samy wasn't exactly overjoyed to be here at the beginning. Boro essentially forced him out. He did not look the happiest n the signing photo! Pretty much thought his premier league chance had gone. Funny how football works

Yep. He may have come in under Cook, but he needed KM. And KM needed him. And the rest is history as they say.

KM and Samy - what a partnership on 09:13 - Jul 16 with 402 views | ElderGrizzly | Makes you realise what a special squad we had here and the trust they put in each other the last 3 seasons. On the extension point, I don't think it makes a difference overall. If we go back up this season, he knows he wouldn't play again in the PL and as reported elsewhere, Kuwait is going to set him up for life. They might not ask again at the end of this season for instance. Not an easy decision for him I'm sure, but his family appears to be the most important aspect here.

Exactly. Just a great group with so much energy and spirit. Fair points on the extension. The family element is important and it does indeed sound like it's more to do with that than any kind of fallout or disagreement. Good luck to him - he deserves it and has earned it. The fact that we're going to drop the fee to make it smoother is a nice touch. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Yes! Bash Brothers suddenly playing like Brazil... It was very wet but as you say the impact was immediately obvious. And I will always remember that KM in those early matches was straight on to the pitch at the final whistle talking to players about the game and analysing! It was clear things had changed.
