Realistically teams like Brentford aren't going to win anything, so they rely on buying players ,developing ,then selling them on,
At 35 or 40m there's not much room for profit especially as I'm sure we'll insert a sell on clause.
Even in this ridiculous market there's not many players sold 50m+

I’d say they are easy to turn down. The ‘profit’ would be useful, but not a game-changer. £100M would be a game-changer, and allow for the purchase of a reasonable Hutch replacement.
At £35M, the profit isn’t massive, and it would be hard to find a suitable replacement that would come into the team and make the same contribution as Hutch.
Keeping Hutch for next season is worth far more than the money being talked about. If we were to sell at that level, because Hutch wanted back in the EPL, I can accept that - but if he’ll stay, he’s worth far more to us than £35M imo. | | | |

Brentford have an excellent track record for identifying players and I'd not be surprised if they look elsewhere as there is certainly more value to be had |  | | |
