New suggestion - open to anyone, share your album of the day.
Today my album is New Order's Technique - released in 1989 and recorded in Ibiza, it tapped heavily into the Balearic dance scene which began in the late 80s.
One of the advantages of these music threads is that I try and listen to as many of the posts as time allows, and that stops me from getting the same old song in my head for days and days (I am seventy now after all) but sometimes old stuff crops up in my head for no apparent reason. And lately it all been Joe Jackson. The 'Blaze of Glory' album was panned by some critics when it was released, too direct ? Too critical of the music business, and they felt threatened ? I think it's a gem worth rediscovering.
Earlier I decided to listen to American Idiot for the first time in probably ten years, with my nice new headphones. It sounds SO good. Every song is an absolute banger.

This and Dookie are their best albums. Jesus of Suburbia is excellent. I can play the whole of it on guitar. It's pretty much three power chords in the key of C#Major throughout.

I'm going to go back over all of their records and also learn to play a few on guitar. Already learnt Basket Case and St Jimmy quickly. I like how easy yet fun they are to play. Get the distortion going and have fun.

Yep Green Day stuff is easy to play. Billy Joe loves his power chords. American Idiot is a fun one to play and easy to learn too.

She’s not on Spotify out of principle but I will nominate Joanna Newsom’s Divers. Maybe her best album and certainly one of my top handful of the last twenty years.
